Pilates for Buff Bones® is a unique, Pilates-based workout that uses bone-strengthening techniques while focusing on alignment and balance. It targets the rear-side of the body, giving the butt, hips, arms and back a terrific workout. This inclusive one-hour class is adaptable and challenging for people of all levels, and is also safe for those with osteoporosis.

Why should I become a Pilates for Buff Bones® instructor?
As a Pilates for Buff Bones® instructor, you will not only earn a certificate of completion; you will be a licensed instructor who has the right to use the U.S. registered trademark of Pilates for Buff Bones® and logo in your marketing and promotional material.

What does the Pilates for Buff Bones® instructor training involve?
The Pilates for Buff Bones® instructor training is a full 17-hour weekend course requiring full attendance as well as a written and practical exam. The Pilates for Buff Bones® curriculum offers:
- Reviews and updates on bone health and anatomy
- The Pilates for Buff Bones® workout and its methodology
- Effective cuing and imagery
- Options for varying challenge levels
- Modifications for commonly-faced conditions
What additional perks arise from the weekend training?
All who attend the training will obtain continuing education credits through the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) as well as through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).
What if I do not pass my exams?
In this instance, you may set up a private review session and retake the exams for an additional fee. Online sessions and exams will be available.
What if I'm not trained in Pilates but am a certified exercise or movement specialist?
If not trained in Pilates, you may still attend the Pilates for Buff Bones® training but are expected to be familiar with the classical mat exercises.
How do I keep my license current?
You must renew your license annually for a reasonable fee of $125 by attending a Pilates for Buff Bones® continuing education workshop in person or online.
What if I don't renew my license?
If you do not renew your license, you must terminate all promotion and teaching of Pilates for Buff Bones®. You may once again promote and teach Pilates for Buff Bones®, if you pass the reaccreditation exam within three years of termination of your license. After three years have elapsed, you would have to retake the full Pilates for Buff Bones® course and exam.
Why is the annual renewal necessary?
The renewal is important to remain up-to-date in this rapidly changing field of bone health. And we want all instructors representing the Pilates for Buff Bones® brand to maintain a standard of excellence.
What is the cost for the Pilates for Buff Bones® instructor training?
The cost of the Pilates for Buff Bones® weekend training is $600 which includes the manual. A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your space. Full payment is due no later than two weeks prior to the course. An early-bird discount of $50 is available if you pay IN FULL six weeks prior to the course start date. (Note: course and renewal fees are subject to change in the future.)
If all your questions are answered and you are ready to take the course, the following list sets forth the step-by-step process of becoming a licensed Pilates for Buff Bones® instructor:
- Ensure the prerequisites are met.
- Complete the online registration form.
- Once your registration has been reviewed, you'll be notified via email. If accepted, you will be emailed the Licensing Agreement to read and sign, and to fax or scan and email or mail back.
- Once your signed License Agreement is received, you will be directed to pay the $600 fee via Paypal. A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot. The remaining $350 is due no later than two weeks prior to the course start date.
- Arrive at the weekend training course 15 minutes early.
- Take the written and practical exams at the end of the training course to display your knowledge and understanding of the material.
- If you do not pass, you may set up a private review session and retake the exams for an additional fee. Online sessions and exams will be available.
- After passing the exams, you will receive a certificate and be a licensed Pilates for Buff Bones® instructor for the next year according to the terms of the License Agreement you sign.
